Our tropical decorated guesthouse is located in a typical Amsterdam canal house built in 1777 on the former coastline of Amsterdam. The house has still her original facade featuring a gable stone of an island with 3 palm trees. We welcomed our first guests in August of 1999. We give each guest a warm welcome, a uniquely decorated room a home away from home. And of course, you can enjoy a wonderful breakfast, either in our cozy kitchen or serve in bed. Our world famous breakfasts in bed is only available to guests staying in the Patio rooms. Like most monumental /historic houses in Amsterdam we have steep narrow stairs. To reach the Patio rooms, there is a 12-steps stairs and the for the upper rooms, 3 flights of stairs going up. Try not to bring super sized Suitcases, but 2 smaller ones. If you check-out before 9.00 am, we are not able to help you with your luggage. Our sweet cats Billy &, Boss live on our private floor, above the patio rooms. if you are (very) allergic to cats we advise you to book the upper rooms. Location wise this is one of the best areas to explore Amsterdam and beyond. Literally, most tourist attractions are just around the corner, within walking distance! The Central station for all kind of public transportation is a leisurely 5 minute walk from the B&,B Our quiet street Droogbak connects 2 major canals, the Singel and the Prinsengracht. Parallel with the Droogbak is the longest shopping street of Amsterdam. A section of this street named Haarlemmerstraat/dijk, has been consistently voted as the best shopping street of Holland. A former sea dike which now features good restaurants, specialty- and local shops. The Brouwersgracht one of the most beautiful canals connecting the four main canals is just one street behind it.
