The hotel chain Hyatt plans to open its first hotel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The Andaz hotel will occupy the old building of the former Public library which extends from Prinsengracht street to Keizersgracht street.
The property where the future Andaz hotel will be located was purchased in 2007 for a sum of approximately 15 million euro.To renovate the old complex, the hotel company has used the expertise of a Dutch designer Marcel wanders known for his works that can be found at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, V&A in London or at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
The exterior of the Hotel will remain unchanged whilst the interior will be completely renovated. to renovate the building, the hotel chain spent approximately 5 million euro.
The property will have 122 rooms including a space for conferences and meetings, a lounge, a bar, a restaurant and a fitness room.
Hyat plans to open its Andaz hotel in Amsterdam in 2012.
